Hello and Welcome!
My name is Erin and I am a single Mom to four incredible children. I have three daughters and one son. I am also the Director of a Preschool, and my students and their families are incredibly important to me. I make it a priority to know each and every child in my school and their family. It is easy to say that children are a very important part of my life.
I am blessed to have the assistance of my daugters with the One Million and One Team. My oldest daughter Emily is a creative and talented Video editor, My daughter Caroline is an English major and she is a gifted writer and dilligent editor and proofreader. Both Emily and Caroline have been Teachers assistants as well. My youngest child is an extremely talented Graphic Designer and computer genius. All three have great product knowledge, artistic talents and know-how, especially with the social media aspects. Together we make an incredible team!!
I went to college to become a commercial artist, and while I loved being a graphic designer it ultimately did not end up being my career. After having four children I pursued the world of preschool and early education. I went back to school to get my credentials and taught Preschool for several years. I continued my credentials to become the School Director, and that is the position that I hold today. It is funny how the world has so many twists and turns along the way.
The predicaments of my life have forced me to simplify the working parent responsibilities, especially being a single Mom. Luckily the personalities of both myself and my children has helped to make it a positive experience. It has definitely been challenging at times, but we always found ways to laugh along the way. My family and friends are my support system (everyone needs a good support system)
There are many aspects of my life that have influenced who I am today, such as working in a Preschool while raising my four children as a single Mom. Our financial situation and a very packed calendar made for additional challenges along the way. However the need for sanity and happiness became a daily process, and one that was extremely important for the betterment of my children. Practicality steps in and takes charge. Mainstreaming life and finding the true values of what is important becomes a necessity. I like to make lists, usually with what seems like One Million and One things to do every day, hence the name. What I like more, is being able to check those items off my list!
Parenting is hard, it’s rewarding yes, but still it’s hard. Don’t let anyone tell you any differently. Everyone’s experience is different. Whether you are just starting with your first child or you are sending your last off to college, or somewhere in between, there are always things to learn during this parenting journey. Through this Blog I want to share with you a few tips that I have learned to simplify the process. I hope to share experiences and learn from others as well. We all need to find ways to take those One Million and One items on our list and make them manageable. I also believe there are One Million and One ways and solutions that can be as different as we are. I hope you read my articles and have an Aha! moment, or a “why didn’t I think of that?” Of course. I don’t claim to be a professional however I have picked up a few tips and tricks along the way and I would love to share them with you.
Nothing makes me happier than when I can apply my personal experiences from parenting and my professional experiences from teaching and be able to help a family make their life a little easier with a few suggestions or helpful tips. It is some of these same people that have encouraged me to start this website and blog. I hope that together we can share tips and learn a few along the way.
Thank you for visiting One Million and One.com
